In-person is so much better for me and I am willing to go the extra mile for even a moment of quality time. I use public speaking as a means to visit friends, acquaintances I wish to turn into friends, and family along the way. Lots and lots of miles. I’m not a great road-tripper and it’s been a while since I took a multi-hour ride solo. What choice did I have? Why is it hard to do things we KNOW are good for us?
On a Friday morning, I went to Yoga, which put me on a later train to work. Even though I hunkered down with 'focus work' during the commute, I arrived to the office close to 10 AM. I fought the guilt of eyes on me as I walked to my desk. Fun Note: My desk is next to my boss's! Every time I say yes to something, inherently I am saying no to another. I can't go to 7 AM Yoga and be at my desk 40 miles away at 8:15. This tradeoff can happen intentionally on my days of clarity. O
